On a dark night in February 2016, 12-year-old Iraqi girl Zahraa fled Iraq alone with her eldest brother Karrar, leaving behind her mother, siblings and everything she knew. She doesn't know what will happen and how long her journey to Europe will take. Seven years later, in 2023, Zahraa turned 19, and she still can’t hug her mother, smell her, or kiss her. Zahraa is currently struggling to reunite with her mother and obtain a passport to visit her before it is too late, as her mother is ill and could die at any time. The story is told from the point of view of her brother Karrar, who is also the director of the film.
